Temporary Pathway Closure for Roundabout Construction

August 2025

Construction of a temporary pathway detour for the new roundabout at the entrance to Three Sisters Village Phase 1 is scheduled to begin this week. This will involve a temporary closure of the Three Sisters Creek Pathway (an asphalt pathway that is on the west side of Three Sisters Creek). Please see attached a map illustrating the approximate extent of construction within the Town of Canmore property to facilitate TSV Phase 1 development.

It is estimated that the closure will be approximately 1 week and is weather-dependent. The closure will enable the removal of trees to facilitate the alignment of the temporary pathway detour and the application of pathway material. Once the pathway detour is built, the pathway will be reopened and will provide a way for users to get around the construction of the roundabout. Signage will be provided to warn the general public of the construction activities prior to construction, and trail signs will be provided at key points to relay the detour to users before it is encountered.

The construction of the temporary pathway will allow the crew to commence construction on a new roundabout for Three Sisters Village Phase 1 on the Three Sisters Parkway. Construction of the new roundabout will begin when the pathway detour is finalized.
